Tuesday 29th September: This morning Beverley and Veronica from the National Library of Scotland Learning and Outreach Team came to give us a workshop about maps and mapping. They came because NLS have sent maps, which James Robertson from Gossabrough, made to the Shetland Museum for an exhibition. We are learning about James Robertson this year and have already been to visit where he lived in Yell. Beverly and Veronica read us all "My Map Book" by Sara Fanelli and then helped the older ones make a plan of the classroom using some symbols. They marked treasure on the map which the younger ones had to find!
They also brought us some old maps of Yell to look at so we could see how mapping skills have improved.
Friday 25th September: Thank you to everyone who came to our Macmillan Coffee Morning and to those who sent in prizes and donations. We raised £342.00.
Thursday 24th September: This morning we baked things ready for the coffee morning tomorrow. Everybody worked in teams; the older ones baked recipes they had chosen themselves and worked without any help.
Wednesday 23rd September: Today we picked most of our broad beans from the garden then we bagged them up to take them home.
Tuesday 22nd September: Today Miss Anderson came to teach us; we walked down to see the Old Haa exhibition for Wool Week.
