Tuesday 8th October: Today Sian Thomas from Stomping Ground Theatre Company came for the first session of our drama residency. We learned what projection and diction mean.
Thursday 3rd October: We were out and about again today! This morning we were at school early so we could catch the ferry and travel down to Lerwick to see the Gentle Giant Exhibition at Shetland Museum. It was the closest most of us had been to a real dinosuar! We had a fantastic workshop with Stephen from The Museum staff and were able to able to do some practical activities.
Whilst we were at the Museum we wanted to look at the Textiles exhibition as part of our Sheep Project; we were lucky as Lyn, from The Museum Staff, said she would show us around that section.
In the afternoon we went to visit Shetland Textile Museum at the Bod of Gremista. We were given a very warm welcome and shown the old loom and then how to spin wool and had a turn at spindle spinning. We had a look at their Croft to Palace Exhibition; they made a hide and seek game for us as well!
Wednesday 2nd October: Today we went up to Sellafirth to visit The Travelling Gallery and their exhibition called This Land based around 2013 being the Year of Natural Scotland.
Everyone really enjoyed the bus and we stayed much longer than intended!
Sellafirth Hall Committee had very kindly said we could have our picnic in the Hall and then afterwards we went to visit The Shetland Gallery and the Centre for Creative Industries.
