Friday 29th October: Today we went down to The Old Haa to see and hear the audio installation that has been added to our bit of the Yell Rocks exhibition; the recordings of us telling everyone about the rocks are great! Open to everyone next season but you can see all the big Inukshuks in the garden all year around.
This is a link to the audio for one of the rocks: Hornblende Gneiss.
Thursday 28th October: Today was the first day of the new term after the October Holiday. Everyone has been really busy over the holiday - please have a read of our blog if you would like to know more as P2+ wrote about their holiday there.
Ms Breyley had been south for her holiday and whilst she was there she went walking in woods so she could collect some conkers, acorns and beech masts so people could see and touch some of the things we have been talking about as part of our Woodlands topic.
Tuesday 5th October: This morning we went to the Shetland Museum to do a workshop about crofting. We went the crofting exhibits at museum and then went to the Learning Room to try our hand at carding and to watch some spinning.
Monday 4th October: Today Mr Ashley Smith took us to the wood at Voxter so we could experience being in amongst trees. Afterwards we went into the walled garden to do some bark rubbings.
