October 2007
Tuesday 30th October:
Today, Maria Leask
came for the first of a series of traditional dance lessons. We went to the Hall again but it was quieter today so we could hear the music!
Monday 29th October:
Today is the first day of term. Our topic this term is Dinosaurs.
Donna came and we learned how to play golf. We played in the Hall and it was very noisy because they are fixing the wall.
Friday 12th October:
Today is the last day of term.
Today was Miss Anderson's last day with us. We gave her an album of photos to remind her of all the things she has done with us whilst she has been teaching in Burravoe. We want to thank her very much for being a great teacher!
Angharad and Andy from Creative Industries in Yell came to do weaving with us. We had a really good day.

Wednesday 10th October:
Today Mr Rickard came to do first aid with the older bairns. Last week they learned about CPR and today they learned how to tie bandage and slings.
Monday 8th October:
Today Elsie made beef stew and dumplings for our lunch. She used some of the onions that we grew in the raised bed.
In the evening some of us went to see the Papa Stour Sword Dancers; they let us have a try!
Tuesday 2nd October:
Today we had a real treat because we had a visit from the author, Debi Gliori. She spent the morning telling us stories and showing us the roughs from a picture book she is working on whilst she is in Shetland. She drew some pictures whilst she was telling one story and they are beautiful. Cullivoe came to share the visit with us and we were amazed at how quickly the morning passed.

As it was a nice day, in the afternoon we delled up our tattie crop.
