Friday 29th November: We have joined Film Club UK. Today we got our induction pack with our membership cards and were able to login to the school's part of the club website. We chose our first 10 films and hope we can watch our first one this term or straight after Christmas.

Tuesday 26th November: This afternoon we did PE in the classroom. We practised balancing on different parts of our bodies and then worked with a partner or a group to make interesting shapes.

Wednesday 20th November: This morning we were thinking about the nets of 3D shapes.

Tuesday 19th November: This morning was our last drama session with Sian; today she helped us learn about improvisation. We worked in groups to make a television advert to sell some amazing products! Sian gave everyone certificates at the end to mark how much we had learned.

Thursday 14th November: This morning we have been really busy baking biscuits ready for Children in Need day tomorrow. Everyone worked with a partner to bake a different recipe and then everyone helped make an advert and some labels for the biscuits. We are going to give people biscuits in exchange for a donation.

Friday 8th November: This morning the Shetland Playvan came for a visit; there were lots of different toys for the younger ones and for the pre-school group to enjoy. Elaine Skinley, Shetland's Road Safety Officer came as well. She showed the older ones how to check their bikes everytime they go for a ride and the signals they need to help other road users know what they plan to do.

Tuesday 5th November: This morning Sian Thomas from the Stomping Ground Theatre Company came for the 2nd visit of our drama residency. Today we learned about mime and about how to make soundscapes - it was great fun!

Monday 4th November: Today we were very pleased to welcome Ms Nicholson; she will be here for this week and then she will be coming to teach here for the whole of Term 3.
Friday 1st November: Today Ms Breyley and Mrs Lawson (from Cullivoe School) were in Glasgow talking to people about the Food for Thought project we are going to do in the New Year. We have been awarded a grant from Education Scotland so we can learn about seafood and the aquacuture industry in Shetland and in Yell in particular. We are lucky that we have the support of 2 local businesses.
