Friday 25th November: This morning Mr Rose, the SIC Field Studies Adviser, came to talk to us about Space - he started a tour of the solar system; we are going on part 2 next Friday!
In the afternoon it was Kerry and Abby's turn to lead our dance lesson.
Wednesday 23rd November: This morning we had a glowmeet with P5, Viewlands Primary School. Perth, Scotland. We shared information about where we live and shared ideas about how we can save enery and resources.
Friday 18th November: Today was Children in Need day. People dressed up and Charlotte, Kay and Lucy made up competitions. We managed to raise £114.71!
Thursday 17th November: This morning P7 were finding our about timezones - they used the ipad for their research and to solve the problems they set themselves.
Wednesday 16th November: This morning we started writing our Christmas Play - we went over to the Kirk to remind ourselves about the space for performance.
Tuesday 15th November: This morning P7 joined with other P7s and S1s with the 2nd part of Choices for Life. After piece we all went down to the Old Haa to plant bulbs for the garden.
Monday 14th November: This morning P7 joined in with other P7s for the national Choices for Life event which, this year, is being delivered through Glow
Friday 11th November: Class 3/4 of Black Mountain Primary School in Belfast put a post on their blog about the cupcard cards they have received from around the world; it was nice to see ours on their display!
Wednesday 9th November: Today everyone wrote a story or a poem and did an illustration for the Glovember ebook competition.
Tuesday 8th November: Today P5 and P7 went to the Clickimin for Small Schools Activity Day - they had a great time trying out fencing and gymnastics. They were lucky to be able to watch some Russian champion gymnasts doing a display.
Monday 7th November: Today we opened a parcel which we received from the Pirates of Room 4; a class from Invercargill, New Zealand. They had sent us some letters and some information about where they live as well as 2 lovely story books about New Zealand wildlife. They sent some lollies (which we learned New Zealanders call sweets ) and a cute baby kiwi!
This morning we planted some spring bulbs; we have been given 400 bulbs to plant. They were given to us by Mike McDonnell because Jill liked flowers.
Friday 4th November: We are taking it in turns to work with a partner to work out a dance to teach everyone else.
Wednesday 2nd November: This morning we spent some time gardening. We dug up some of our heritage tatties and weighed them. We planted up some pots with things for spring and we cleared some of the old flower plants from the beds; we talked about plant reproduction when we were doing this. We had some fungi in the grass so we talked about them too. We have been given 400 spring bulbs to plant so we thought about where to put them and tested the ground to see if it was soft enough for planting.
We found some fungi in one of the pots so we looked around the school grounds to see if we could find some more - we found some in the grass too.
This afternoon we made a variety of models using solar panels - we are going to test them tomorrow!
