Today Cullivoe School came to join in a workshop with Chroma. We split into 2 groups and all did some music, singing and drama based on the opera, Odysseus Unwound.At the end of the afternoon we performed for the other group. CHROMA * chamber ensemble

The P5 and P7 were practising Audacity so we can get our radio station up and running.

The peerie ones made a monster to go on the wall because Chroma are coming tomorrow to do a workshop with us and Cullivoe School.
Monday 27th November 2006
P5 and P7 went to Clickimin to see Tete-a-Tete opera company performing Odysseus Unwound. We caught the 6:30pm ferry, the concert started about 7:30pm, in the middle of it there was an interval at 8:30pm for 10 minutes and we got some juice then it carried on until 9:30pm. We caught 11:05 ferry home. Jack got home at 11:20pm and the rest of us got home at 11:30pm.

Today Gary Johnson, the architect for the Mid Yell JHS build, came to talk to us about his designs and to ask what we thought. By the time the younger ones reach S1, the new school should be built.

Monday 20th November 2006
Today we have counted the line of coins and we have raised £84.32. The line of coins was 38.22metres long.
Friday 17th November 2006
Today is Children in Need Day; we decided to make a line of coins to raise money. Lots of people came in and donated coins for us to put on our line. On Monday we will measure the line and count the money.
Caron, our ICT technician, came today to help us set up "maratech" so that we can try video conferencing in school before we do it with people in other schools. She showed Vladik and Ross how they can set up the computers themselves so they can use it. Everybody liked seeing themselves in the webcam and drawing on the whiteboard.
Thursday 16th November 2006
Today P5 and P7 went to The Clickimmin Centre for small schools' activity day. We travelled down with Cullivoe Primary School, which is at the north end of Yell, and met up with Fetlar Primary School which is on one of the other islands near Yell. We all tried new activities which we wouldn't normally do: tag rugby, kurling, golf, athletics, basketball and bowls. We would like to thank the Active Schools' Team for organising such a good day for us.
Monday 13th November 2006
This afternoon we had a school meeting to decide about ordering the new bookcases for the library area. We decided that we liked Ross's idea best so we are going to have an L shaped library.
Wednesday 8th November 2006
Today we heard that we have won 2nd prize in the Shetland Schools' Website Competition. Baltasound JHS, on Unst, won first prize.
Monday 6th November 2006
Burravoe SWRI have bought us some bulbs so that we can enter their bulb competition next year. Today we planted the bulbs and put them in the outside cupboard where its dark and cold. We will get them out again after Christmas.
Friday 3rd November 2006
Miss Breyley went to England during the October break. Whilst she was there she collected some conkers. Today we had a go at playing conkers. We don't have horsechestnut trees in Shetland.

Wednesday 1st November 2006
Today we went to Bonhoga Gallery to see "Gie Us Ten Guitars". Local artists had taken guitars and turned them into works of art. Everyone liked the one done by Peanuts who is our school librarian.

We had made music makers on Monday so when we got back from the Gallery we decorated our instruments.
