Wednesday 5th May: This morning P1,2 and 3 did some more planting. One of P7 helped with the labelling. We decided to plant our cereals; we have 3 varieties this year. We had to measure the bed carefully to make sure all 3 types got the same amount of space and then had to measure to make sure all the rows were even.
When we had finished planting the cereals we planted some peas in a pot. We will plant more peas into the ground another day.
Whilst we were out in the garden we noticed that some of the garlic cloves that we planted last week have started to shoot. We got the garlic from Mary Williamson who is our partner crofter.
Tuesday 4th May: The soil is starting to warm up so we did some gardening. We raked over the beds which Ian has dug for us ready to put in seeds and tatties. We put some pink fir tatties into a tub and then we planted some wild flower seeds in two areas of the garden as we want to encourage as many bees and insects as we can to pollinate our plants.
