Wednesday 28th March: We have been making films! Please click on to the Glow blog link to see the results.
Tuesday 20th March:This morning we went to Lerwick to go to the Music Festival. We were in the Class for Primary Groups from schools with 1 - 3 teachers. Everyone worked really hard and did a great performance - we got a Silver Certificate.
In the afternoon we went to Lerwick library and Mrs Nicolson gave us a tour and read us a story.
Tuesday 13th March: This afternoon we had a visit from 3 of the Commissioners from the Scottish Commission on the Delivery of Rural Education. They came to do a focus visit whilst they were in Shetland gathering evidence for the Commission. They talked to the children as they gave them a tour of the school; they were very complimentary about the children and we are all very proud of them! Later in the afternoon they talked to parents.
Monday 12th March: This afternoon a P7 and a P5 went to Lerwick to a teacher training event to show some teachers how they keep their learning diaries in a glow blog and their eportfolios in a wiki. They both did a very good job of explaining and demonstrating - especially as they had to do it 5 times to different groups!
Tuesday 6th March: This morning it was sunny but very cold and windy; we thought we would go out and see if there were many signs of Spring and also give our veg patch a hoe as we had spotted some weed seedlings. We saw that some of the bulbs we planted in autumn are just showing themselves and we heard and saw some of the first shalders (oyster catchers).
Monday 5th March: This morning we went to a concert given by the RSNO. Nearly all the primary schools in Shetland were able to go to a concert called Heroes and Rogues. At the end of the concert Brydon took a photo of Nicholas Reader the bassoon player.
It was a lovely day so we could have our picnic lunch in one of the Lerwick playparks.
