Friday 19th June: This morning Karolina came in to help us cook our lunch. We made 2 Polish dishes; a main course: Golabki which is meat in cabbage leaves and a pudding: Pierogi which is a strawberry cooked in a special dough. It was a lovely end to our week of learning about Poland.
Tuesday June 2nd: Today we had 2 visitors from Kenya: Nancy Kirui, a teacher from Olenguruone Primary School and Agnes Salim from the Ogiek Community in the Eastern Rift Valley. They came with Mrs Rodway from Crofting Connections and Mrs Simpson, the Headteacher of Dunrossness School. They are visiting Shetland for a week as part of a school gardens link between Crofting Connections Schools and The 4K Garden Scheme in Kenya. We were able to show them around out school and garden; share a Shetland lunch and then go to the Old Haa. We had a fantastic day learning so much about each other - we had lots of things in common!
We were very lucky that it was such great weather for our visitors too!
