Thursday 30th June: Today is the last day of term. We start back on Wednesday August 17th.
Wednesday 29th June: Today we went on a long trip to the South Mainland. We were meant to catch the 7.45am ferry but it had broken down so we had to wait but, that meant we were very lucky, we saw a pod of orcas swimming in Yell Sound! We went to Sumburgh Head for a workshop with the RSPB.
Afterwards we went to Jarlshof.
Our next stop was Quendale Mill.
We finished the day at Frankie's fish and chips. We were too busy eating to take photos! We got back to school at 7.30 so it was a long day! We would like to thank the Cullivoe Jarl Squad as we used the money they gave us to pay for our day out.
Monday 27th June: Today P6 went to Lerwick as part of the Yell team competing in the County Sports. In the evening we had our end of year event when parents and friends could come and see and hear some of the things we have been doing this year.
Friday 24th June: This morning Elsbeth Clark from NHS Shetland came back to see how we had been getting on with our Healthy Eating and Being Active charts; she thought we had done very well and reminded us of the things we can do to stay healthy.
Thursday 23rd June: Today Laura came again to teach us some sign language; today she signed a story for us: it was Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.
Wednesday 22nd June: Today we had a surprise parcel - when we opened it the people from Glow had sent us presents from the Glow cupboard! We all got a cap.
Wednesday 15th June: This afternoon we went to visit Gib and Marianne's well boat, The Norholm, which is tied up at Burravoe Pier for a few days. Gib gave us a tour of the boat and explained how everything worked and how they handle the fish in and out of the cages. We had a great afternoon so thank you very much to them both!
Monday 13th June: This morning we had a visitor from the SSPCA; she told us about the work they do protecting wildlife.
Thursday 9th June: This morning Laura came to give us a lesson in sign language. We all learned how to say " I am called...." and Laura also taught us some of the things we can say when we meet someone.
The Travelling Gallery is in Shetland for a visit, today it came to Mid Yell today; we went to see the exhibition which is called "Drawn In".
