Friday 21st December: Today was the last day of term; we had a busy day! In the morning we opened our cards from the post box; we had a delicious Christmas lunch cooked by Elsie and then we all opened our presents from under the tree. We were very pleased that Margaret came for lunch and stayed for the afternoon as it will be her last "school day" before she leaves at the end of the year - we are very sorry to lose her!
Wednesday 19th December: This evening we invited members of our families to come and see what we have been doing this term. We played and sang for them too.
Tuesday 18th December: Today we made Viking bread using a recipe we found on the internet. We bought some spelt flour as that was the nearest flour we could find to that which the Vikings used. We had to use oats as well. In the afternoon Jennifer bought in some salt fish to eat with the bread so we could have a Viking style meal. People in Shetland still salt and dry fish in the same way that the Vikings did.
Friday 7th December: Today the Space Mountain and Super Sellers counted up how much they had managed to turn their £1s into during the Micro Tyco challenge. They counted their money and wrote their cheques to send off. They made £454.55 between them. We are very proud of how hard they worked to raise the money and very grateful to everyone who supported them!
Wednesday 5th December: As part of the Viking Project everyone has been learning about the Viking Gods. Today they made puppets to represent the gods and put on a puppet play.
Monday 3rd December: We had hoped to have a parental involvement tree planting day yesterday to plant our Woodland Trust Jubilee trees but the weather was too bad. Today we made some tree guards to try and protect the trees from rabbits and then planted a few trees!
