December 2009
Tuesday 22nd December:There is still snow on the ground but the roads are clear so we are open today. We are looking forward to having our Christmas lunch and then having all our parcels which are under the tree!

Monday 21st December: Today all schools in Shetland are closed because of the weather conditions. We have snow and more forecast.
Tuesday 15th December: Today we joined, with other schools in Scotland, in a Glowmeet with the author Nick Hesketh. We had already watched his workshop about punctuating dialogue and had the chance to try his challenge and share it with him on Glow. Nick read out Elouise's and Lucy's work so we were all very pleased. Ms Anderson came to join us for the morning so she could see first hand what great opportunities Glow gives us.
Thursday 10th December: This afternoon, when we went to the Leisure Centre, Mr Williamson had arranged for Maria Leask to come and do some traditional dance with everyone.
Monday 7th December: This week Lisa Smith, an S6 pupils from Anderson High School, is coming to do work experience with us; she is planning to go to University next year and wants to be a primary teacher.
Friday 4th December: This afternoon we had a Glowmeet with Brian McLaren from LTS Consolarium so we could talk to him about the work we have done based on the Wii game, Wild Earth African Safari. We showed him our collage, told him about out role play area and Charlotte read him her brilliant story for which he drew her a star. We are going to send him some more of our safari stories. You can read about it on the Consolarium blog.
Later on P4, P5 and P6 finished their pinball machine - they have worked really hard on this and had some great comments from people who have seen it. Here they are showing the others how it works.

Wednesday 2nd December: This morning we had visitors from the Global Ambition Project to come and start the project we are going to do together about identity. Sophi and Lindsey are in S6 at Anderson High School and Lewie, Malte and Davy work with the Global Classroom Project.
In the afternoon Jerry Edwards, our QIO, came to catch up with what we have been doing this session.
