August 2009
Monday 31st August: As part of our Toys project we made paper plate puppets. We have invented characters for our puppets and are going to video some of their conversations.
Friday 28th August: Today Jennifer, our TA, was away because she had the graduation ceremony for her HNC - we all say "Well done Jennifer!"
Thursday 27th August: Ms Breyley came back to a note from Mrs Davis which said what a well behaved and charming class Burravoe bairns are - that makes us very proud!
Wednesday 25th August: Mrs Davis made peg dolls with us using some fabric from Africa for their clothes.
Monday 24th August: Ms Breyley is away on a course at Stirling University so Mrs Davis is in teaching for a few days. Mrs Davis spent a year working in schools in Africa so she is going to tell us about the toys with which the children she met there played.
Friday 21st August: Today the weather was much better so we were able to do some gardening, most of it was weeding but we harvested some broccoli and some courgettes. We had our pre-school group this morning.
Thursday 20th August: Today we had our first PE of the session; some of us had to get used to being in a new group.
Wednesday 19th August: Today is the first day of the new session for us all. We are very pleased to welcome P1. Everyone has had a good holiday and is ready to get back to work! This term our topic is Toys and we are planning to do a lot of work in technologies based around this subject.
Friday 14th August 2009: Over the holiday the whole school has been rewired and the outside has been redecorated. The garden is coming on well and we have been able to pick courgettes and broccoli.
