August 2008
Thursday 28th August: This morning the Hokum Hotshots came to play for us. They are Blues Musicians; they brought a lot of different stringed instruments and told us about them all. They brought kazoos for us to play so that we could all join in. The visit was funded by YMI.

Wednesday 27th August: Today The Swan came to Burravoe Marina so we could go for an afternoon sail. We were lucky as it was a nice afternoon and we had a really good time. Thank you very much to Andrew, Michael, Ian and Joe for taking us.

Monday 25th August: Our topic this term is Houses and Homes. This morning P1 thought about the wall which Humpty Dumpty sat on; this is the wall they built with the big wooden shapes. Can you see Humpty on the wall?
This afternoon Miss Dobson came for the first time, she is our new music teacher. She and Miss Wiseman stayed after school to do Music Club. This is funded by YMI.
Wednesday 20th August: Today was the first day of term. We are very pleased to welcome 4 new children to P1. This afternoon we went out into the garden to find our first tatties and to thin the carrots. Elsie will cook the tatties for our school dinner.
During the holidays we have had all our big windows replaced because the old ones were rotting. We have has a new design so that we can open more windows and so that we don't have to use the blinds so often to stop the glare from the sun.
