April 2013

Tuesday 30th April: Today P5 and P6 went to Brae for the Hockey Festival; they went as part of Team Yell. We had lots of lovely comments about how well they represented Burravoe so well done to them all!
Monday 29th April: Today we received a thank you letter from Aileen Campbell MSP, The Minister for Children and Young People.
We planted some pea and cauliflower seeds in pots to start indoors as it is still too cold to plant outdoors. We had snow today!

Friday 26th April: Today Mrs Colclough came to teach us for the first time. She led a day about boats. At the end of the day everyone went outside to practise hockey ready for when the older ones go to the Hockey Festival at Brae next week.

Thursday 25th April: This morning we watched Polly Dunbar talking about her book Arthur's Dream Boat and then we watched The Long Nose Puppets perform the story - it was excellent! You can watch it here. All the Scottish Book Trust's Authors Live programmes can be seen here.
Wednesday 24th April: This afternoon we had a Glow meet with Middleton Park Primary School in Aberdeen. They are the school, with whom we are going to share our puppet play. The Scottish Book Trust have partnered the schools as part of the project we are doing with them. Everyone introduced themselves and told each other a bit about where we live.

Friday 19th April: This afternoon we decided we would clean out the front bed ready for Spring planting. We started by digging up the last of the leeks. It looks really good now!

This term we are going to be working with the Scottish Book Trust making a puppet play based on Oliver Jeffer's book, Stuck. As a thank you for the work we are doing they are giving us lots of new books which arrived today. We loved looking at them all and look forward to reading and sharing them.
